Whole of house coverage from Buffalo wireless router

Your IT - Home IT

Buffalo claims its latest AirStation wireless router is its fastest ever. With a name like AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N High Power Router & Access Point WZR-HP-G450H, it would need to be.

Buffalo is focusing on speed and range with its AirStation Nfiniti Wireless-N High Power Router & Access Point WZR-HP-G450H. The use of 802.11n, a triple 5dBi antenna and an onboard power amplifier are said to allow high-speed connectivity from anywhere in a larger multi-story house.

For really large homes, the WZR-HP-G450H can be used in pairs, with one acting as a bridge or repeater.

Other features include five GbE ports, QoS to prioritise multimedia content such as video, a DLNA server, a USB port for shared storage, VPN, and - for easy setup - AOSS and WPS support.

"With the booming popularity of smartphones and tablets, we now expect to be able to take the internet with us wherever we go - from the lounge to the kitchen and every room in between. Plus with the average Australian family home having more than one TV, a gaming console plus a PC and/or laptop, there are more devices than ever fighting to share a single internet connection," said Akihito Kondo, Buffalo's group manager for Southeast Asia and Oceania.

"In addition, our growing appetite for rich multimedia content means not only do we want internet access in every corner of our homes, we need it to be fast and reliable to ensure our online experience is an enjoyable one. We designed our latest AirStation Nfiniti router with these aims in mind," he said.

The WZR-HP-G450H costs $199, and will go on sale later this month.
