Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

iiNet's BoB2 finally bobs up - for real!

Your IT - Home IT

After a previous BoB2 announcement, iiNet is announcing, with a little poetry in motion, that BoB2 (and a little wireless brother) is finally available'¦ from today!

If you've been bobbing around waiting for iiNet's BoB2 to bob up, then you'll likely be as pleased as punch to know that, just like Bob's your uncle, the BoB2 has bobbed up at long last.

Putting some poetry skills to work, which may well cause some to suggest that iiNet sticks to its day job, BoB2's creators poetically stated that:

'We're proud to announce the arrival of BoB2
And deep down we know you are too
We've put him to the test, and he beats the rest
He's finally here, let's give him a cheer
As our new all-in-one phone and Internet solution has turned it up a gear!'

Erm'¦ like I said'¦ some might suggest that the Internet business is what iiNet is best at, rather than rhymes re: the BoB2 start times.

Indeed, it's end times for the BoB1, because who'll wanna 1 when nothing less than a Bob2 will do?

iiNet tells us that its 'highly anticpated BoB2' is 'the latest all-in-one Internet and phone solution that combines everything the original BoB is loved for with some extra special features of his own including an in-built answering machine, colour handset screen, secure wireless and an even sleeker, sexier design.'

Then there's iiNet's new 'Wireless Bridge', which we're told 'bridges the gap between any BoB modem and a fetchtv set-top-box. It enables fetchtv to be streamed around the house without the need for cables or rewiring', which is a nifty thing when needless wires don't make you sing.

iiNet Labs' GM, Steve Harley, revved up his oratory skills and throatily roared that 'More than 4500 [iiNet] customers told us what they wanted from a modem router and BoB2 is the result. I don't know the word for better than awesome, but BoB2 is it'.

Ok, so perhaps BoB2 won't quite catch on with the youth-set as a true replacement for whatever word normally designates something that is 'better than awesome', with 'awesomer' clearly not really a go-er.

However, a BoB2 might well be the go-er you've been going for, while waiting through the pain of BoB2's previous unavailability.

So, the BoB2, which has never been alternatively known as the RoBert2, is now available from today onwards, and is available to 'new and existing iiNet customers for $279 or $199 on a 24 month contract while the iiNet Wireless Bridge is $119 for a pair.'
