Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Virgin Mobile's $29 Big Cap comes with $450 cherry

Your IT - Home IT

Pre-paid plans are always popular with those who aren't fans of contracts, with the battle over whose cap at which price point offers the best value and can attract customers, with a $29 cap Virgin Mobile's temporary price taste tempter.

If you don't spend hundreds of dollars a month on your phone bill and like to keep it as low as possible, pre-paid plans are the obvious answer.

While all the telcos have pre-paid plans, there's always a battle over which plan is best. It naturally depends on many factors, including which phone you want to use and what you want to use it for, and whether or not it's a smartphone.

I had a look online to see what comparison sites there are for mobile phone plans, and the first one to come up was PrePaidPlans.com.au - it looks like a good little guide and worth checking out.

Anyway, Virgin Mobile's latest new pre-paid cap has been announced today, and it's called the 'Pre-Paid Big Cap 29'.

Previously only available for post-paid customers, it has now come to the pre-paid world, with a '$450 included credit cap' for that $29 per month.

While this makes it the best value $29 pre-paid plan in Australia, it's a limited time offer that ends on the 31st of July, 2011.

Virgin Mobile explains that its $450 cap credit 'consists of our standard Big Cap $29 $300 credit and a Special Offer bonus credit of $150', which runs for four months - from April 1 until the 31st of July 2011 - and then ends.

Normally, the Big Cap $29 credit 'consists of $29 credit and $271 bonus credit', adding up to that normal $300 figure.

You can also rollover unused call and data credits if you recharge within 28 days of the last Big Cap $29 recharge.

So, what does that $450 buy you?

Aside from 'unlimited talk and text between Virgin Mobile Members', you also get $450 worth of 'included talk & text [that] can be used across any major network' - excluding calls to Pivotel satellite phones, although most Virgin Mobile users are unlikely be regular Pivotel callers, if ever, as is the case for most city dwellers on any network.

Virgin Mobile says 'included talk & text' means 'credit can only be used for standard voice calls, text, MMS, calls to 13 & 18 numbers (excluding calls to Virgin Mobile customer service), and is used first for eligible calls, services & excess data.'
