Families fighting over what programs to record with their DVR is one greatest causes of fatalities in the US. Not really. However, feuding over programs will soon be a thing of the past with TiVo's new dual tuner digital video recorder.

The set top box, the low-end version of which will retail for $100, is available from May 1 and will allow users to record two analog cable (not digital folks) TV shows at once with 80 hours of storage.

To date, TiVo has made no announcements about when a model will be released that can record multiple digital channels. However, given the technology of digital cable broadcasting, developing such a device should be a snap and, if TiVo doesn't come out with one soon, someone else will.
