Apple's new 17 inch widescreen Intel MacBook

Your IT - Home IT

About one week from now, Apple will ship its first Intel-based 17 inch widecreen laptop computer, the MacBook Pro. The new 17 inch model, will sport all the features of the already available 15 inch model plus more, including higher resolution, more USB ports, a faster DVD burner and, of course, the bigger screen. In addition, the new bigger screen MacBook has better and faster connectivity than the 15 inch model, with the inclusion of a Firewire 800 port.

The new 17 inch display is far superior to the already sharp 15 inch model, with 1680 x 1050 resolution compared with 1440 x 900, and has all the fancy plug and play features users have come to expect from Macs, such as built in camera and multimedia interface. For the benefit of Windows users, the new MacBook Pro is capable of plenty of grunt with an Intel dual core processor running at 2.16Ghz and can of course run Boot Camp, giving it the capability of running dual boot Mac OSX and Windows XP.

The new 17 inch MacBook will sell for $2799 in the US. The question for those who own the 15 inch model is how much can they get for it on eBay?
