HP Media Center PCs bundled with IceTV

Your IT - Home IT

Hewlett-Packard Australia has partnered with local free-to-air electronic program guide provider IceTV to include a free subscription to IceTV with HP’s new Media Center PCs.
IceTV simplifies the process of watching and recording digital television by offering an on-screen guide and ‘point and click’ recording functionality.

The guide is regularly updated to deliver interactive programming schedules for all major Australian free-to-air networks.

With the HP Pavillion “m Series” Media Centers consumers will get:
    One device with one remote control to view, capture and play DVD movies, music, photos and TV
    View TV show listings for the next week
    Record TV programs by simply clicking the on-screen guide
    Rewind live TV instantly
    Record TV programs without tapes, on the built-in hard drive
    Fast processing from the Intel Viiv dual core processor, designed for digital entertainment

“IceTV changes the way you watch TV. Instead of having to watch shows when they are scheduled, you simply choose the shows you want to watch in advance and watch them at a time that suits you,” said Duncan Ross, CEO, IceTV. “Selection is as simple as ‘point and click’ using the HP Media Center remote control – choose the show and press record – it couldn’t be easier!”

Purchasers of the HP Pavillion “m Series” media centers can activate their free subscription via IceTV’s website, www.icetv.com.au.  The length of the trial depends on the model purchased, with the top of the range m7399a coming with a free 12 month subscription worth $156.

“IceTV complements the simplicity and functionality of the ‘m Series’ Media Centers and offers a real consumer benefit.” Said Manpal Jagpal, product manager for HP Australia. “HP will continue to partner with IceTV to provide exciting new digital entertainment solutions for our customers.”
