PC maker Dell promises Australia's mobile gamers super performance from the firepower of dual-core processors and 512 MB graphics in the form of its new XPS(tm) M1710, the company's fastest consumer notebook, which goes on sales next week. 

Available in Australia from April 24, the XPS M1710 Special Edition Formula Red notebook is equipped with Intel(r) Core(tm) Duo processors, NVIDIA(r) 512 MB GeForce(r) Go 7900 GTX graphics, up to 4 GB of memory and dedicated technical support.
 
The XPS M1710 is aimed at consumers who want to play 3-D games at high settings while simultaneously performing intensive tasks such as encoding music or running a virus scan without zapping performance. 
 
The notebook also features an illuminated XPS touchpad and adjustable 16-colour perimeter lighting, which allow Dell XPS M1710 owners to customise the look of their machine.

Manager, Dell Australia and New Zealand.
 
The top-of-the-line XPS M1710 also incorporates multimedia features to entertain.  Dell increased the brightness of its TrueLife(tm) 17-inch widescreen UXGA display by 30 percent (2) to enhance detail and clarity for games, photos and movies.

Additional XPS M1710 features include:

The XPS M1710 Special Edition Formula Red model starts from $4,299 with an Intel Duo Core T2500 processor, Windows(r) XP Media Center Edition 2005, 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics, 1 GB DDR2 memory, nine-cell battery, 100 GB4 hard drive and one year next business dayon-site limited warranty (5).
