iTunes 9.1.1 fixes bugs but no new features

Your IT - Home IT

An update to Apple's widely used iTunes application for Mac OS X and Windows fixes a trio of major issues.

iTunes 9.1.1 was released overnight, fixing issues in three main areas.

They concern stability with VoiceOver (Apple's software to support the vision impaired), the usability of Genius Mixes with VoiceOver, and the automatic conversion of high bit-rate AAC files during synchronisation with an iPod, iPhone or iPad.

There are also the customarily vague fixes for "other issues that improve stability and performance," and the 64-bit Windows version fixes a conflict with unspecified third-party software that could cause iTunes to crash.

Existing iTunes installations can be updated easily by running Software Update (Apple Software Update on Windows), or the installer can be downloaded from Apple's web site.
