Your IT - Home IT

Open source solutions provider Cybersource has launched a Linux-based disaster recovery solution for small to medium businesses. The solution replicates an organisation's primary server disks in near real-time, with the aim of enabling rapid recovery in the event of server failure.

The Cybersource system, called simply server replicator, runs from a CD and works by taking snapshots of the primary Linux server and synchronising changes. According to Cybersource, the starting price of $1995 gives even small SMEs the option of putting a disaster recovery strategy in place.
