If you're a University or TAFE student in Australia, and want to win what could well be the ultimate Windows 7 prize ever, with the chance to 'win' 7 months of free rent in your choice of share house for you and your friends, with Dell laptops pre-loaded with Win 7 and Office, HTC HD2 mobiles and Xbox 360 games consoles - read on to find out more!
To celebrate the availability and popularity of Windows 7, and clearly to promote Microsoft's products as much as possible to Uni and TAFE students in Australia, Microsoft has decided to create a winning Win 7 whopper of a promo.
Part of the promotion extolls the virtues of the ultra-low pricing Microsoft has made available for students, such as Office 2007 ultimate being made available for only AUD $75, and a Windows 7 Professional upgrade for AUD $49.95.
The price for Windows 7 is meant to be available for a 'limited time only', and actually reflect the true prices Microsoft should be charging consumers for Office and Windows, but until Linux distros such as Ubuntu gain far more in popularity than they are now, only students and staff at a valid educational institution can take advantage of the inexpensive pricing.
So, what about the competition? Well, Microsoft Australia says it's new competition is now underway on a national basis and is searching for 'University and TAFE students who love to share for their chance to win the ultimate student house to share with their friends!'
Microsoft's press info tells us that 'not only will one lucky University or TAFE student will WIN 7 months' rent free (to the value of $1500 per week) in the house of their dreams, but Microsoft will also fit the house out with Dell laptops - loaded with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office, HTC HD2 Windows mobiles and Xbox consoles and games packs.'
If you're a qualifying student, what do you have to do to enter the competition?
Microsoft says that: 'To be eligible to win, all Uni and TAFE student entrants have to do is prove their love of sharing by telling as many people they can about Windows 7 in as many innovative and creative ways possible'¦.as long as it's safe, doesn't hurt anybody and it's legal. It could be a funny stunt, video, blogs, posters, Tweets - imagination is the only limit.'
Details on where you can enter, along with details on where students can access the really cheap pricing for Office and Windows 7 is on page two, as well as details on when the competition closes - which isn't far away!
Please read on.
