Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
WebCentral, Australia's largest web and application hosting company, has reduced its domain name pricing saying the move is part of a new strategy to increase its share of the domain name registration market and drive shared web hosting revenue growth.
The company has reduced its retail .com.au and .net.au domain name pricing by 52 percent, from $135 to $65 for two years, and .com domain names by 24 percent, from $33 to $25 per year.
This price is still well above that charged by Hostway. The company announced last September that its IntaServe division would offer .com.au and .net.au domains, at $39.00 for a fixed two year contract. Melbourne IT, which formally held a monopoly over .com.au and .net.au registrations, charges $140 for two years.
WebCentral's move co-incides with the launch of a new range of web hosting packages for SMEs. WebCentral claims 1,100 active partner resellers which, it says, will derive particular benefit from the domain name re-pricing and new shared hosting product range by receiving preferential pricing structures.
