NEC service is music to i-mode users' ears

NEC Australia has released "music-on-the-move", a mobile content service for Telstra i-mode users with content from with major record labels, EMI and Warner and Australian independent labels, Shock Records and Vicious. NEC has secured licencing agreements with these content owners.

At launch The "music-on-the-move" site will deliver 'realtones' (snippets of digital music) and music industry news. The full length music download and music video services will launch later in 2006. The site also features a search engine, allowing users to find the music they want.

Davide Iacovitti, NEC Australia's mobile content manager said the company had aspirations well beyond Telstra's i-mode service. "Our aim is to work with other mobile delivery platforms around the globe and develop new applications and content solutions that mobile consumers are craving."
