Take two for Vodafone's Dell Mini bundle

Your IT - Home IT

Vodafone's offering a special version of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 with built-in mobile broadband. And there's a sweetener of cut price access for the first six months.

Vodafone found the Dell Mini 9 was "a runaway success for us", so the company is following up with the well-received Mini 10 bundled with a wireless broadband plan.

Dell sells the Mini 10 in two configurations: one with a 1024 x 600 display ($A649), the other 1366 x 768 ($A749). Both versions include a 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter.

Vodafone's configuration appears to have the lower spec screen, and only includes a 160GB hard drive and Windows XP Home, but does include an internal 3G modem.

Repayments of $A20 per month for 24 months give a hardware price of $A480, so you can forgive the lower specification.

Purchasers have the choice of 3GB or 6GB per month plans, costing $A29.95 or $A39.95 per month (reduced to $A14.97 or $A19.97 for the first six months).

"We are thrilled to be launching the impressive Dell Inspiron Mini 10, and bringing customers a straight-forward, low-cost, fuss-free solution, to enjoy internet on-the-go," said Edward Goff, Vodafone's head of voice and broadband.
