The TouchSmart 300 (20in widescreen display) and TouchSmart 600 (23in) are the consumer models, featuring a range of touch-enabled software for easy access to Hulu, Netflix, Twitter, and Pandora.

Other touch applications organise recipes (with voice control to keep the screen clean while you're actually cooking), watching and recording broadcast TV, and managing and editing digital photos.

The business model is the TouchSmart 9100. Aimed largely at self-service and self-assistance scenarios, the 9100 includes DVI and FireWire interfaces. Among the options are Windows 7, a wall-mount adaptor, GeForce GT230 graphics, and a Blu-ray combo drive.

Prices start at $US1299.

Want a multitouch notebook? The HP TouchSmart tx2 features a 12.1in widescreen touch-screen and an AMD Turion dual-core processor. The convertible design means it can be used in PC, display or tablet mode.

Most of the applications from the desktop TouchSmarts are supplied with the tx2, which starts at $US799.

What about the touch-capable digital signage? See page 4.
