Internode 'resells' Unwired wireless broadband

Broadband ISP Internode is offering wireless broadband access in Sydney via the Unwired radio access network.

According to Internode CEO, Simon Hackett, the service - which is branded "Wireless Broadband powered by Unwired" - is more than simply resale of the Unwired service. "Our service uses Unwired's excellent wireless network as a 'last mile' to connect you into the Internode broadband environment," he said. Also, Internode says the service is "is fully integrated into Internode's network backbone".

Sign-up costs $299 with a new modem or $99 with a refurbished modem (Unwired branded modems from other sources will not work on the service). Prices start at $39.95 per month for a 256/64 services with 2Gbytes rising to $109.95 for a 1024/256 service with 30Gbytes. A range of higher priced services with static IP address is offered for SOHO and SME customers. Termination within less than six month attracts a $65 cancellation fee.
