Photographs and videos allegedly showing the rumored Apple "iTablet" have popped up on gadget-lovers sites and on YouTube.
Rumors have been flying for weeks, of course, that this fall will see the introduction of something in the tablet Mac/extra-big iTouch line.
Now photos have shown up on a French technology
site purporting to show the tablet with a welcome message on it.
The photo's persuasiveness in undercut somewhat by the fact that the exact same screen, with the letters in the same orientation (taken from the Leopard opening video), is widely available through Google images, as
pointed out by an Engadget reader.
Somewhat more convincing, if only because they're harder to fake, are the two videos on YouTube.
The first just shows the tablet booting up, and about the only thing to be learned from it is that the process takes about 20 seconds.
The
second shows a user moving multiple applications around on screen, typing, and more.
Some commenters, though, are convinced it's just an iPod Touch emulator running on a Windows touchscreen.
