BigPond portal attracts more visitors

Telstra claims BigPond is now the third most visited portal in Australia.

Quoting figures from Nielsen Online, Telstra says BigPond saw more than 3.8 million unique visitors in April.

This figure excludes visits to Telstra's non-BigPond sites such as Sensis and Telstra.com.

"[W]e have been adding content to satisfy audience demand," said Justin Milne, media group managing director.

"From our humble content beginnings with music, movies, sport and games, we have gradually added news, health, travel, Trading Post and we are learning a lot from our acquisitions of the leading car site and the number one real estate site in China," he added.

The increased number of visitors took BigPond from fifth to third most visited Australian Internet portal.
