BT Global rationalises remote access offerings

BT has launched MobileXpress, an end-to-end managed service that allows business users to access their applications remotely from around the globe.

According to BT, MobileXpress "brings together into a single simple solution multiple BT and BT Infonet remote working service offerings." Infonet was a global service provider recently acquired by BT.

BT says that MobileXpress enables users to connect easily to their corporate networks from over 150 countries with "straightforward client software" and a single user ID and password - whether they are mobile, teleworking or flying. Access is available from over 19,000 wireless hotspots, worldwide - a number expected to grow to more than 30,000 in 2006 - as well a cellular data a services and fixed network dial up and broadband access services.

Aaron McCormack, VP global products, BT Global Services, claimed that "being able to provide remote access to the corporate network has become fundamental to success in today's global economy."
