5 September launch for Telstra 3G

Telstra says it will launch its 3G service on 5 September with four handsets: the Motorola V975, Samsung Z500, Sony Ericsson K600i and the i-mode NEC N600i. The network will be available in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. No indication of pricing was given in the announcement. Nor did Telstra make any mention of 3G, simply describing it as "[Telstra's] latest high-speed mobile service offering which will give customers a range of new video features and the widest choice of Australian information and entertainment content."
