Hutchison's 3 launched in Canberra

Hutchison has launched its 3G service in Canberra and announced plans to open its first 3 retail store in Canberra in mid August. 3 services and phones will also be available through a number of retail outlets including Allphones, Digitone, Powerhouse, Big W, Dick Smith and Tandy. Hutchison claims to be "the first operator to deliver Canberra's retail consumers a full 3G offering, comprising handsets, content, services such as video calling, and capped voice pricing." Optus is already offering 3G services in Canberra, but only on a trial basis to corporate customers. Telstra also has trials, but only with its own staff.
