Security fixes for Opera

Your IT - Home IT

Version 9.25 of the Opera web browser delivers a variety of security fixes along with other improvements.

The update addresses two flaws allowing cross-domain scripting, one that could allow the execution of arbitrary code, and another involving the revealing of random data from memory in bitmaps.

Version 9.25 also fixes a problem in the handling of malformed BMP files.

Opera is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and other operating systems.

The latest release for Mac OS X additionally takes care of an issue affecting compatibility with certain other programs including the Typinator and TextExpander keyboard utilities, and the VMware Fusion virtualisation software.

Opera Software recently filed a complaint with the European Commission alleging anticompetitive behaviour by Microsoft regarding Internet Explorer and other browsers.
