Opera syncs book marks across browsers

Your IT - Home IT

Norwegian Browser developer Opera, which claims to be the only company to "put the Web on any device," has launched a service that enables users to synchronise their Opera bookmarks and personal preferences across any browser, on any device.

The service, Opera Link, is an addition to the latest version, Opera 9.5  beta, of Opera's main browser and Opera Mini 4, its browser for moblle phones. A Web interface at http://my.opera.com allows uses to access their Opera bookmarks etc and sync these to any other browser.

"We refuse to believe people should compromise their experience when they access the Web from different devices," said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO,  Opera. "With Opera Link, we give them a consistent experience uniquely suited to the way they want to use the Web." He added: "We are already hard at work making [Opera Link] even more valuable to our users in the future. Opera Link means convergence without compromise."
