Design award for waterproof MP3 player

Your IT - Home IT

NU's Dolphin waterproof MP3 player picked up a gong in Japan's 2007 Good Design Awards.

The Dolphin is a small and ultra-light (25g, or less than 1oz) MP3 player designed for use while participating in water sports. The main unit can be attached to the strap of a pair of swimming goggles.

The earphones feature non-woven membranes to keep the mechanism dry, plus soft silicone earplugs to keep them in the ear.

The award jury noted the Dolphin's original and superior design, as well as the way it solves a particular problem.

Compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux, the device can play MP3 and WMA files.

RRP for the 1G model is $A138.

NU is a spin-off from Quanta Storage. The company produces various entertainment devices plus flash drives, DVD burners and LCD monitors.
