Google doodle ballot beckons

Your IT - Home IT

A panel of judges has picked the finalists, so now it is the public's turn to vote for the winners of the Doodle 4 Google 'My Australia' competition.

More than 10,000 entries have been whittled down to the final 32 - one from each state and territory in each of four age groups.

Voting for the age group winners is now open. See the finalists and cast your vote at the Doodle 4 Google site.

Common interpretations of the theme included indigenous animals, gum trees, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, aboriginal culture, the beach, the red centre and multiculturalism.

The overall winner will be chosen from the four age group finalists by Google webmaster Dennis Hwang. The winning doodle will appear on the Google Australia home page throughout Australia Day 2008. The winner will receive a 15in MacBook Pro, and their school will get $A10,000 of technology equipment.
