Fox offers free premiere episodes via iTunes

Your IT - Home IT

The Fox network will offer free downloads of the premiere episodes of many of its new season TV shows via the iTunes Store.

The offer covers new and returning shows including American Dad, Bones, K-Ville, and Prison Break. The premiere episodes will be available for two weeks, beginning the day after they are broadcast.

The move can be seen as a vote of confidence in Apple's iTunes Store, following NBC's move away from the service towards Amazon's Unbox and its own forthcoming free but ad-supported NBC Direct.

Last week, ABC announced it will begin offering full episodes of popular shows including Desperate Housewives and Lost via AOL's portal.

All of these services are restricted to users in the US.
