M2 launches wholesale ADSL2+ & telephony bundle

Your IT - Home IT

Telecom services provider, M2 Telecommunications (ASX: MTU),  has launched a wholesale residential ADSL2+ broadband and telephony offering, supported by the Optus network, through its M2 Wholesale division.

The division incorporates recently acquired data wholesaler, Wholesale Communications Group  (WCG) which provides a range of wholesale data and voice services to over 250 Australian ISPs including DSL, dial-up, hosting and voice services.

The new wholesale residential ADSL and telephony offering is supplied using Optus’ high speed ADSL2+ network comprising DSLAMs in over 300 exchanges throughout Australia with subscriber access using the Unbundled Local Loop (ULL) service.

Matthew Hobbs, national sales manager for M2 Wholesale, claimed that "Our ADSL2+ offering is uniquely positioned in the ISP market, courtesy of our ability to offer an integrated data / voice billing and operational support system, allowing our wholesale customers to bill their end-user customers for voice and data services all on the same bill.”

For wholesale customers that have existing voice and the data billing systems, M2 Wholesale / WCG provides, as a standard inclusion, an integrated online ordering and provisioning system.  It also offers both 'raw' ADSL2+ access and 'packaged' ADSL2+ access, inclusive of Internet access. This, it claims is presently not offered by other wholesale data services providers.
