Fairfax Digital and Google get closer

A new agreement will see Fairfax sites carry Google ADWords advertisements and make use of Google Maps, and Fairfax video content will be available through Google.

Fairfax Digital will run Google ADWords advertisements across it sites, including the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age web sites. Revenue generated from these advertisements will be shared between the parties.

An increasing amount of Fairfax Digital content from its news and information sites will be accessible through Google Video.

Google Maps will be integrated into Fairfax Digital's real estate site, Domain.com.au, enabling real estate buyers to locate properties of interest and, later Google Maps will be integrated across the Fairfax Digital network.

The two organisations say they intend to pursue additional opportunities in Australia and New Zealand to strengthen the relationship. Fairfax digital has around 30 interactive sites which claimed to reach over eight million visitors each month.
