Mother dies during Wii competition.

Your IT - Entertainment

No, it wasn’t a wayward Wii-mote, rather, a wayward radio station competition.

Endeavouring to snag a rare and popular gaming console is getting more dangerous by the minute.

A Sacramento (California USA) news report is quoting a County Coroner’s Office report on the death of 28-year-old Mother of three Jennifer Strange.  Strange was found dead Friday at her Rancho Cordova home, showing signs consistent with water intoxication.

This was mere hours after participating (along with 19 others) in local radio station KDND 107.9’s  “Hold Your Wee for a Wii” Competition.   The competition asked contestants to constantly drink a set amount of water without heading for the toilet.

The last person standing won a Nintendo Wii game console.

In a brief written statement issued Saturday, Entercom Sacramento (KDND’s parent company) VP and market manager John Geary expressed sympathy for Strange's family.
