A satisfying RPG element is evident in the creation and growth of both army officers and wizards, although it is somewhat lean on detail about what each bonus ability or special item achieves during battle.

There is no strategic elements in the single player campaign, not too much of a problem as the tactical game is so strong. Though the transition to Real Time from what essentially is a turn based table-top game does throw the balance out a tad.

The tactical game consists of typical RTS style of game play, however units are in rank and file formation, as such, facing of said units becomes highly important, with a rear charge being devastating for the recipient.

Now the bad, and there really is only one 'bad', load times - oh my gosh the load times, between battles, between strategic screen moves, even between some menu screens..  You will be making and drinking a lot of - insert favourite beverage here - whilst playing this game.  And there is no in game save during the tactical missions.  So fluff up a siege, or let a hero die accidentally and it is back to the load screen, and then off to the fridge again.

Overall - I am very happy to see Warhammer return to the video arena, and there has been a lot of love and sweat put into this release.  It also contains, the best opening movie of a game for a long time.  If a patch can improve load times then, well, clanking of ale mugs will be heard in the long hall that night.
