So, this is Microsofts challenge.  Not only do they need to make this service reliable and easy to use, but  must also provide compelling content within this frame work.  Shadowrun and Halo 2 is a good start.  I am a bit dubious about the attraction of exchanging game data, such as my pimped Forza Motorsport 2 ride, via Mobile phone, but time will tell on this feature.

Releasing new firmware upgrades and content by the Live feature will always be welcomed, and with a solid stable of releases already under the Xbox belt, the green machine is here to stay.  The main competitor in this console war will be the PS3, as both are touting Hi-tech gaming as a feature, Xbox 360 is keeping pace with the Sony by matching moves on the tech chess-board.  1080p support, Blu-ray and HD DVD duking it out, Can it keep up the pace ?

Microsoft is also gearing up for the Aussie release of their new franchise, Gears of War.  To celebrate the Emergence day, gamers will have a complimentary weekend of Xbox 360 Live Gold access, starting 10PM EST on Friday 24th of November.  Blast the cogs out  each other, all weekend long.
