Is South Korea’s mega K-Pop hitmaker, Psy, about to become YouTube’s first video view billionaire?
Yes, it looks like that might be happening in the not too distant future, not only with Gangnam Style reaching the 800m views mark, but blowing right past it, soon to hit 809m views from dance music and K-Pop video fans across Planet Earth.
Gangnam Style has seen umpteen remakes, and there’s all manner of “live performances” from all over the world to watch, too – whether it’s the very first live TV performance or one of several from the world’s biggest cities that PSY has visited over the past few months.
PSY isn’t just a one-hit wonder, either, with six albums, massive concerts in Korea, and even top-notch songs in his back catalogue such as “Right Now” from 2010, a song that sounds like it was recorded yesterday and should be a global mega-hit all its own!
So… if you’ve been ignoring the Gangnam Style phenomenon, as I kinda tried doing the first couple of months, then stop mucking around and get Gangnam Style into your brain through your visual cortex, and if you’ve already seen it, it’s clearly time to see it again!
After all, it’s the only way PSY’s going to get his billion, and if there’s a video on YouTube that deserves it, it certainly ain’t “Bieber’s Baby”, but PSY’s “Style” – even though both artists are now represented by the same management.
Here’s Gangnam Style for your viewing pleasure, yet again!
