Kobo has announced three new e-readers including the Kobo Arc, a 7in Android tablet that will sell for less than $250.

The Kobo Arc (pictured) is an Android 4.0 tablet designed for consumption of a range of content, including books, videos, music, and web pages.

It features a Kobo-developed interface called Tapestries that responds to the user's "pinned" items to recommend related content.

Hardware features include front-facing speakers with SRS TruMedia, microphone, 1.3 MP still/video camera, a choice of black or white cases with interchangeable 'SnapBacks' to be available in blue and purple.

Company officials claim up to 10 hours of continuous reading or video play from one charge, and two weeks standby time.

Google Play is included for easy access to apps and content; other pre-loaded apps include Facebook, Twitter, Rdio, Zinio and PressReader.

To ship in November, the Kobo Arc will cost $249.99 for the 8G model, or $299.99 for 16G.
