iTWire UPDATE - it's FREE!

The range of music streaming services available on the Sonos range 0f wireless audio gear has expanded again with the addition of JB Hi-FI's Now.

Various items from the Sonos range have been favourably reviewed by iTWire (Play:3, Sonos ZonePlayer S5 [now Play:5], ZoneBridge 100 and Controller 200).

The wireless units can be installed in one or more rooms, playing the same track with perfect synchronisation or different music in different rooms.

The music can be stored locally (eg an iTunes library on a computer, or a share on a NAS device), or be streamed from a commercial subscription service.

A couple of months ago, the Telstra-affiliated MOG service arrived on Sonos.

The latest addition is support for the JB Hi-Fi Now service, which claims to have a library of over 9 million songs from more than 250,000 artists.

Subscription prices start at $6.88 per month, and a one-month free trial is offered.

"We are very excited to have this well implemented music service on our platform," said Niv Novak, MD of Sonos Australia.
