iTWire UPDATE - it's FREE!

The acquisition of Internode by iiNet has been followed by a gradual integration. The latest step is the merging of iiNet's 3FL into Internode's games.on.net game site.

iiNet acquired Internode for $105 million in December 2011. Internode CEO Simon Hackett is now a major iiNet shareholder.

Importantly for Internode, iiNet, Westnet and Netspace users, the newly unified games destination is unmetered.

"The new games.on.net is faster, easier to navigate, and offers more power and content than ever before," said Internode content manager Heidi Angove.

"We now have over 13,000 concurrent player slots, more than double the number we had across the site pre-merge.

"As well as the latest news, reviews and features from the world of gaming, games.on.net provides a huge cluster of rock-solid, lightning fast servers to play them on."

In this case, 'huge' means 600 servers for games including Battlefield 3, Team Fortress 2 and Modern Warfare 3.

In addition to the game servers, games.on.net offers more than 8TB of files to download, including patches, demos and content, game
