Quickflix partners with Samsung to stream movies

Quickflix has announced today that it has entered an agreement with Samsung Electronics Australia to stream movies and TV shows to Samsung's range of internet connected Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, the Galaxy tab range and selected Galaxy Smartphones.

Quickflix has announced today that it has entered an agreement with Samsung Electronics Australia to stream movies and TV shows to Samsung's range of internet connected Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, the Galaxy tab range and selected Galaxy Smartphones.

Customers who own any of those Samsung consumer devices will be able to access the Quickflix streaming and will be able to watch unlimited movies instantly on demand for a low monthly subscription fee. The newly established partnership will mean Quickflix streaming will be available on the Google Android operating system which powers the industry-leading Samsung Galaxy devices.

Previously Samsung had only added a few additional viewing outlets focused on the news for its customers. However with the new partnership in place with Quickflix it will allow it to appeal to the entertainment side of its customer base.

Being the world's largest consumer electronics company in terms of revenue and a market leading TV, mobile and appliance brand in Australia, the partnership will allow Quickflix to considerably increase its distribution rate for its movie streaming services.

Quickflix's movie streaming will be available on the Samsung devices by the middle of this year with the features including unlimited viewing of movies from the library of Hollywood's major movie studios such as Warner Bros, Sony Pictures and NBCUniversal and the soon to be featured TV series and films from HBO.

The subscription to the Quickflix movie streaming service is priced at $14.99 per month or $7 a month for those customers who subscribe to Quickflix DVD rental. The service will also provide its customers the opportunity for premium pay per view titles for the latest movies and TV series.

Quickflix is on a roll with its streaming service -  it already signed a deal with Sony last year to stream movies to its PlayStation 3 console as well as other Sony Internet-enabled devices.
