Vodafone Group and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have forged a global agreement that will make Vodafone the preferred provider of 3G connectivity for the Sony PlayStation Vita in multiple countries, including Australia and New Zealand, when it launches in February 2012.
Also, Vodafone will be the only telco able to offer the Vita on a contract with 3G connectivity. It will be available for outright purchase from Vodafone in Australia for $449. Ross Parker, general manager of devices at Vodafone Australia, said the move marked "an exciting new direction for us as we move into the world of personal mobile gaming."
