Telstra has made its Foxtel on T-Box service available to its ADSL connected customers in all Foxtel service areas and has hinted at launching an unlimited movie service for a fixed monthly fee in 2012.
Telstra made Foxtel available to cable T-Box customers in June this year and in October extended coverage to ADSL connected customers in Foxtel service areas in NSW and Victoria.
"From 30 November we will be rolling out to the rest of the nation, customers will be able to start at $19.50 or sign up for one of the other tiers, sport or entertainment of $10 each and we have two movie channels at $15 each," Kinealy said.
Also, in the run up to Christmas, Telstra is offering new customers $200 worth of movies and TV shows that they can watch at any time in the six months after signing up. "Today we will be launching a two month Christmas campaign. You can buy the T-box for $299 or at $11 per month, or as part of a bundle of phone, broadband and T-Box for $109 per month, Kinealy said. He said that Telstra how had 240,00 T-Box customers, 15 months after launching the device.
Telstra has also upgraded its service delivering content to Samsung and LT Internet enabled TVs. "From this month we will have a new app that combines our existing IPTV streaming channels, movies on demand and apps such as our gaming apps. " So customers won't have to switch between apps on the TV." Kinealy said.
