Telstra has expanded the availability of Foxtel on T-Box to more customers in Victoria and New South Wales. Also new is a T-Box remote control app for iOS.

"We've been delighted with the early take-up of the service with one in nine Telstra cable customers in Foxtel coverage areas switching on the Foxtel on T-Box service," said J-B Rousselot, Telstra's executive director of media. "We know the range of content, and the fact customers can switch on and off the service month by month, has hit the sweet spot for our customers so will continue to roll the service out to more Australians in the months ahead."
Also new for the T-Box is a free iOS remote control app that runs on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Connecting to the T-Box via Wi-Fi, the T-Box Remote's functions include changing channel, adjusting the volume, and using T-Box menus. Shaking the device mutes the T-Box.
An Android version of the app will be available "soon".
In related news, Telstra announced that BigPond Movies will be available on Android tablets next year, and the range of content available on the T-Box will be expanded.
Telstra has sold 200,000 T-Boxes.
