Kogan seeks Aussie-spending stimulation with digital desirables

Always seeking to turn adversity into opportunity, Kogan has launched a new campaign in the midst of what the company dubs 'increasingly frugal retail conditions', promoting affordably priced and desirable digital technologies.

Ruslan Kogan has certainly succeeded in living and breathing his sensible capitalist ideals, turning Kogan Technologies from an idea into an international consumer electronics brand, and generating plenty of publicity and winning plenty of awards and recognition along the way.

Now, seeking to smash through the 'frugal retail conditions' and malaise that has presumably been partly caused by all of the political uncertainty over carbon dioxide taxation, alongside rising energy and food prices, Kogan has done what he does best: launch desirable new products at temptingly affordable prices. 

These include a 46-inch Borderless LCD TV with inbuilt PVR and SRS speakers, which starts with Kogan's 'buy now' LivePrice at AUD $849, is currently $850 and will peak at $969, and a twin-tuner HD set-top box with PVR that can record two shows at once which starts with the LivePrice of $59, is currently $59.98 and will peak at $89.

There's also a Touchscreen 6-inch e-book reader that has a fixed priced of $169, and a compact 1080P video camera that starts with the LivePrice of $265, is currently moving fast at $281 compared to the other two new products at time of publication, and will peak at $329.

Ruslan Kogan said the new products address demand from increasingly price-conscious shoppers, and had a few things to say:

'We're in the middle of a period of economic uncertainty, where previously stable bricks and mortar retailers are really starting to feel the pinch', commenced Mr Kogan. 

'Retailers that simply stack their shelves with the same old products at full price and don't innovate in their businesses, are finding times tough', said Mr Kogan, boldly taking another swipe at his bricks and clicks competitors.

'It has become clear that Australian shoppers are becoming more frugal and are constantly looking for the best option for every purchase. They're questioning and researching each dollar they spend.
