OHKI adds name brands to store

Your IT - Entertainment

One of Australia's newer online retailers is diversifying into branded goods.

Online retailer OHKI launched early this year with a model similar to that of Kogan: house-branded electronics sourced from Asian manufacturers and sold direct to Australian consumers.

Fast-forward four months, and the company has added well-known brands to its catalogue. Examples include Sony and Nikon cameras, TomTom GPS units, Bush digital radio, and Altec Lansing audio gear.

"Potential savings can often come from different stages in the supply chain and by utilising every opportunity available to OHKI, we are able to offer great choice and prices," said co-founder and co-director Lucas McEntee.

The price of the 42in LCD/LED TV that OHKI launched with in January has fallen from $999 to $799 and currently comes bundled with a 75W home theatre system including DVD player.

"OHKI's focus is to deliver real value to customers by offering real choice on high-value products at the best possible prices. We're a new entrant to a market that has seen many brands jostle to set themselves apart in recent months," said Mr McEntee.
