Royal wedding to stream live on YouTube

Your IT - Entertainment

The wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton is to be streamed live on YouTube.

If the traditional media's coverage of next week's royal wedding isn't enough for you, live coverage of the ceremony will be available on YouTube's The Royal Channel.

The live stream will start at 9am GMT (7pm AEST) and the complete coverage will be available for replay after the event.

"This [royal wedding] is already heralded as the first of the Internet age, where for the first time in thousands of years of royal history, the moment will be captured online and preserved forever," said Rachel Ball, partner development associate at Google.

Last month, Google announced an update of Google Earth's 3D imagery for central London, including the entire wedding procession route.
