Follow the exploits of The Trashmaster as he ventures through New York City (Liberty City?), as depicted in RockStar Game's Grand Theft Auto IV.
Machinima, for those unfamiliar with the term, is the art of using 3D in-game graphics to create a cinematic experience.
Most famously initiated in the Red Vs Blue machinema series created using graphics from Halo: Combat Evolved, but going back as far as Quake and similar games, where the creativity of fans lead to digital puppetry from the in-game recordings.
Since then it has become a valid art-form unto itself. RockStar Games has just pointed us at what is probably the first ever feature length machinima effort set within the world of Grand Theft Auto IV.
Known as the Trashmaster, the 88 minute film is described thus:
"The "trashmaster" divides his time between collecting garbage and cleaning up other forms of trash fouling up New York City's streets: dealers, small-time criminals... When the dancers in his favourite strip club are mysteriously killed, the trashmaster finds himself hot on the trail of a particularly twisted serial killer." Comment by Rockstargames.com
Directed by Mathieu Weschler, who obviously has time and patience on his side, you can check out
