Channel 7's catch-up service is available on a growing number of TVs without the need to involve a computer. LG is the latest manugacturer to join the clan.
Streaming video from Yahoo!7's Plus7 catch-up service will be available on a range of LG TVs, the companies have announced.
Plus7 is an Internet service that delivers full-length episodes of local and imported shows broadcast on Channel 7 such as Packed to the Rafters, and American Dad. However, not all Plus7 content will be available on LG TVs - The Event and Better Homes and Gardens are the only two programs that iTWire has been told will definitely be offered.
[Updated 18/11/10]"LG recognises that Australians have busy lifestyles and will sometimes miss their favourite TV shows. Through Plus7, LG customers have the convenience of catching up on the latest episodes at any time," said Tim Barnes, senior marketing manager for home entertainment at LG Electronics.
And Mark Helvadjian, Yahoo!7's director of products and platforms chimed in with "Yahoo!7's association with LG Electronics attests to the growing popularity of services like Plus7 that provide more possibilities for the viewer. Yahoo!7 vision is about enabling audiences to access our content whenever and wherever they want and we're thrilled to be partnering with LG to bring the internet even closer to consumers."
Earlier tis year, Yahoo7 announced a similar relationship with Panasonic, which offers Plus7 support on selected Viera and Neo Plasma 3D models.
Plus7 is also available on the Playstation 3.
