Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

A grand truism-o at last: Gran Turismo 5 coming Nov 25!

Your IT - Entertainment

A truism is an obvious truth, and while the truth of Gran Turismo 5's oft-delayed release was never certain, you can finally start your engines, overtake all your fears, and prepare to be first past the post in getting your own copy of Gran Turismo 5 at last!

For the uninitiated, Gran Turismo 5 does not involve grandmothers or grandfathers suiting up and helmeting on in a chance to beat the Mark Webbers of the world at their own game.

Well, not unless they're avid gamers who have just bought the game to pop into their PS3s, ready to practice and show their 'gran'-kids a few things or to when it comes to rip-roaring through realistic virtual racecourses.

And who knows? With Gran Turismo 5 having taken so much time to be released, there could easily be some gamers who first started playing the original Gran Turismo on PS1 in 1997 who are now grandparents, but this is probably taking the whole 'Gran' thing to a level of grandiosity and granularity never intended.

Granted, some may think I am just grandstanding, or in need of more granola, but my granary of useful gran words that can be grafted into this article is now virtually empty.

Thus, we turn our focus away from wordplay to gameplay, with the joyous news, at least for GT devotees, that Gran Turismo 5 is arriving on November 25, after what seems like aeons in perpetual pre-release flux.

Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc, might have been playing Yamauchi-koochie-koo with GT5 as it turned from baby into now fully grown game, but the time for game playing is over as the time for game playing begins in full swing.

Mr Yamauchi stated that: 'Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Programme!

'When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre.

'With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with GT5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans.
