Telstra will screen the first Australian cinema commercial in 3D - a version of its current T-hub commercial - during three new 3D movies to be released in Australia tomorrow, 27 May.

The ads will screen during 'Street Dance', 'Shrek 4' and 'Toy Story 3'.

According to Telstra, Three Drunk Monkeys the ad agency responsible for the existing T-Hub commercials - featuring a disembodied head-in-a-jar of Alexander Graham Bell - "worked closely with [cinema advertising company] Val Morgan's newly created 3D production facilities in Melbourne to adapt the existing 2D spot into a 3D experience that lifts the T-Hub off the kitchen bench, literally."

Telstra's 3D T-Hub ad has also been invited to be showcased at this year's Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival - 3D cinema seminar, on 21 June, hosted by the global trade body for the Screen Advertising World Association (SAWA).

According to Telstra, "SAWA seminars are amongst the most sought after events at the Festival, and this year's seminar will be showcasing new 3D ads and other interactive firsts from around the world.
