Panasonic Australia also announced the pending partnership with Yahoo!7, giving Viera CAST equipped TV's access to full-length episodes from some of Australia's favourite Channel Seven shows such as Lost and Flash Forward.

'We're excited to be launching with Panasonic and continuing to be at the forefront of IPTV innovation in Australia,' said Mark Helvadjian, Yahoo!7 Director of Platform and Products.

'Yahoo!7's platform agnostic approach means we can easily extend our content with a consistent user experience to a range of devices.  Our agreement with Panasonic will mean that even more Australians will have the chance to experience PLUS7 delivered over the internet directly to their lounge room.' Helvadijan concluded.

Paul Reid, Director of Consumer Electronics Group at Panasonic Australia was equally upbeat:  'Panasonic leads the way in providing immersive home entertainment experiences in Australian homes.  We look forward to working closely with Yahoo!7 to deliver the PLUS7 service to hundreds of thousands of VIERA customers.'

'Viera televisions are now able to receive content from a wide range of sources, including IPTV, voice and video calling and 3D content, making them our best connected TVs ever,' he said.

The new range of Viera Panasonic TV's rollout from June (more about their 3D capabilities soon), with the Viera CAST appearing on the D25 and S25 series of LCD & LED LCD TV's, as well as VT20 and V20 series of Plasma TV's
