Your IT - Entertainment

iiNet has revealed that FetchTV will be providing the content for its long-awaited IPTV service.

iiNet has formed a partnership with FetchTV and says it will become the first Australian ISP to deliver the FetchTV service over ADSL broadband.

"Trials are set to take place over the next month or so, iiNet's TV service will be available to customers shortly thereafter," iiNet said.

iiNet says users can find out more and register their interest at www.iinet.net.au/fetchtv. (This page was not live when this article was posted 7.20am 12 April, but is now operational)

FetchTV will deliver all free-to-air digital channels, a range of subscription channels, a personal video recorder (PVR) and an electronic program guide (EPG); quota-free as part of the iiNet Freezone.

The service will also offer unmetered video on demand with a basic subscription. Content will include a continuously updated library of movies, TV shows, documentaries and children's programmes. New release movies will be offered on a pay-per-view basis.

It will also offer, according to iiNet, "3D TV capability, in-built single and multiplayer games, access to a selection of social networking web applications and even the ability to receive messages regarding your iiNet services to your TV screen via the set-top box - all for a very low monthly cost."
