Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Canon 5D is in da House

Your IT - Entertainment

The current director of House (the TV medical drama) confirmed via Twitter that the season six finale was shot entirely using a Canon 5D - that's normally a digital *still* SLR.

First broken via Twitter by Cali Lewis of Geek Brief TV with the simple message "The TV show House shot their entire season finale on the Canon 5D Mark II! More info - http://www.geekbrief.tv/735 @GregYaitanes" and confirmed by series director Greg Yaitanes soon after with his response, "we did!"

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II (one assumes that's the specific model used) contains a 21.1Mpx sensor; Canon is also well-renowned for the quality of its lenses (particularly the prime-focus lenses).

Over a series of subsequent tweets, Yaitanes fleshed out the comment with further information.

Over the course of filming, they used "all the Canon primes and the 24-70 and 70-200 zooms."  Interestingly, Yaitanes also notes that, "focus was hard with these lenses but more 'cine-style' lenses are being made as we speak."

A number of other tweets hinted at the rather unique aspects of shooting including the close-up, intimate nature of the camera.

One wonders if this reflects a different approach to the presentation of the episode.  After-all, the program is well-known for unexpected themes for the first and last episodes of each series.

This episode goes to air on May 16th in the US; who knows when Ch. 10 will get around to showing it in Australia.
