Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Xbox 360 standalone 250GB HDD for some regions

Your IT - Entertainment

It's expensive, and not available everywhere, but Microsoft are slowly giving Xbox 360 owners a way to store their increasing volume of games, photos, music and HD movies.

If like myself, you are constantly juggling the space on your original 20GB Xbox 360, or, god-forbid, own a Xbox 360 Arcade sans hard drive and have been enviously watching the release of 250GB HDD equipped Xbox 360's bundled with AAA games such as Modern Warfare 2 or Mass Effect 2, well, a solution may be at hand.

A standalone 250GB HDD for the Xbox 360 should now be available in North America for $US130, making it a comparatively expensive way to upgrade your gaming space allowance.

A Microsoft spokes person told MCV: 'The 250GB hard drive offers the player more space to store game content and full titles with games on demand.

'They'll also have more freedom to download the latest demos, Xbox Live arcade games, TV shows, movies, music and more straight to their Xbox 360 console.'

The HD has been available in Japan since February as a standalone product, but back then it was also eluded to that the device would not make its way to the UK market.

In a similar vein, when contacted for any local announcement, Microsoft Australia/New Zealand told iTWire: 'Microsoft always looks to bring the very best products and services to the local market. Further detail around local availability & pricing will be announced in due course, should this be launched locally.'

Those of us with 'space issues' will have to keep juggling in the meantime.
