The Government has offered Australia's three mobile operators, and vividwireless, renewal of their existing spectrum allocated on 15 year licences in the late 90s and early 2000s at set prices, while the Government expects to rake in $3 billion.
Apple’s iPad is still more than 50 days away from being on sale in stores, and most people are still yet to touch it for the very first time. With apologies to Madonna, here’s one potential new anthem for iPad users who are set to love their iDevice, and just can’t wait for that first touch!
Ok, so you’ve probably seen that video clip from the movie “Downfall” where Hitler is going off at his generals as the Allies rout German troops, all seems lost and Hitler has a massive mega meltdown.
Naturally, someone has posted a new version on Youtube, with the subtitles now all changed to suit Hitler’s disappointment at the iPad being the opposite of what he expected, and ends with him deciding he might be better off waiting for the HP Slate after all.
Well, what about Madonna’s song? It could easily be about an iPad user-to-be, desperately waiting for the iPad to land on store shelves to experience that first touch… and then finding one!
I made it through the wilderness [of crappy pre-iPad tablets] Somehow I made it through Didn't know how lost I was Until I found you [with my iPhone GPS]
I was beat, incomplete I'd been had [by Tablet PCs], I was sad and blue But you made me feel Yeah, you made me feel iShiny and new
Chorus:
Like an iPad Touched for the very first time Like an iPad When your A4 heart beats Next to mine
Gonna give you all my love, iToy My fear [of touch] is fading fast Been saving it all for you…
Ok, so the rest of the song doesn’t really lend itself to such iChicanery, but hey. It was fun, for me at least.
You may not share my sense of humour, but it’s a heck of a lot better than comparing the iPad to a tampon!
